Audio Fiction Has Got Game – Rock Band Game |
Sunday, 07 March 2010 |
NYC indie rockers Audio Fiction become one of the first bands to join Harmonix and MTV Games' just released Rock Band Network Music Store for the Xbox 360(r) Rock Band that allows bands and labels to author their own songs. Audio Fiction is an Horatio Alger story set against the backdrop of web 2.0. First there was a revolution in music distribution that leveled the playing field for large, small and no label bands. Bye, bye gate keeper. Then there was the work, courage and determination. The band produced their eponymous debut album, created their own label to market it, used social networking sites to inform and inspire a growing cadre of fans, and funded and directed their first music video. They used Harmonix tools to author their track 'Race the Hourglass' for the just launched Rock Band Network. |

Dancing With the Spartans Coming Soon |
Saturday, 06 March 2010 |
On Friday, March 12, 2010, The Oak Lawn Community High School Spartans gym will be transformed into its own Dancing with the Stars when for one night only, the gym will become Dancing with the Spartans. The event, sponsored by the Senior Class Advisory Board, will mirror the style of the popular TV show: four male teachers and four female teachers chosen by the students will be paired with professional dancers for two months of lessons and one night of competition. No detail will be spared. There will be three judges with glittered number panels, a video montage of each dancer's journey, a large projection screen connected to a live-feed camera off stage where the dancers will discuss their performance before the judges give their scores, and, of course, the winners will receive a mirror ball trophy. The votes will be decided through a combination of judges' scores and the audience votes. Votes are $1 a piece. |
